About

A daily, rules-based swing strategy for the Nasdaq: use a market stoplight to decide when to be long TQQQ, short via SQQQ, hedge with Treasuries/volatility, or rotate into the strongest big tech stocks. Very aggressive and high risk.
NutHow it works
Think of a stoplight for the market. First, if the S&P 500 is in a long‑term uptrend, we take risk; if not, we go defensive (either SQQQ = 3x short Nasdaq or EDV = long Treasuries). In “risk‑on,” we check the Nasdaq’s short‑term trend. If it’s strong but overheated (RSI = a 0–100 “heat” meter), we briefly park in Treasuries (TMF) or volatility (UVXY). If it’s weak and washed‑out, we buy the dip using TQQQ or TECL (both 3x bulls). If it’s neither hot nor cold, we hold the strongest big tech/chip names (AAPL, MSFT, AMZN, NVDA, TSLA, AMD, TSM) based on very recent strength. Signals update daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy beats the S&P on risk-adjusted metrics: Sharpe ~1.46 vs 1.44, Calmar ~1.95, and ~73% annualized return vs ~23%, driven by Nasdaq-tech tilt and adaptive hedges. Be aware of larger drawdowns in downturns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
