About

A two-sleeve portfolio: 60% tactically rotates into one sector or volatility using “heat” (RSI) and strength rules—often via leveraged ETFs—while 40% flips between stock funds (ISPY/ECML) and T‑Bills based on the S&P 500’s trend.
NutHow it works
Two parts. 60% tactical sector bet: - If any sector’s RSI (0–100 “heat” gauge) >80, buy UVXY (a fear/volatility ETF). - Else if any RSI <30, buy that sector, choosing the stronger of its plain ETF (e.g., XLK=tech) or its 2–3x version (e.g., TECL). - Else pick one strong/active sector and buy its regular or leveraged ETF (sometimes SVXY, a “calm markets” fund). 40% trend switch: - If SPY’s 50‑day avg > 200‑day, split ISPY (income S&P 500)/ECML (value). Otherwise hold BIL (T‑Bills). Rebalance only if weights drift ~4%.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~46% annualized return vs ~16% for the S&P; Sharpe ~1.46 vs ~0.91; Calmar ~1.96. A rules-based sector/volatility strategy with a trend ballast targets higher risk-adjusted upside, with drawdowns ~23.5% vs ~18.8%.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
