A rule-based market-timing strategy that aggressively buys leveraged stock funds in strong trends, but rotates into cash, gold, oil, dollar, bonds, or bearish funds when markets look weak or overheated.

This strategy splits money into 6 mini-portfolios. Each one watches a market area like big tech, the S&P 500, banks, chip stocks, utilities, or Treasury bonds. If that area looks healthy, it buys a boosted version to amplify gains. If it looks weak, overheated, or crash-prone, it shifts into safer places like Treasury bills, gold, the U.S. dollar, oil, defensive stock sectors, or funds that rise when markets fall.

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
